The Home
The original Cooling Springs home lasted until the early 20th century and was replaced as the family residence in 1879 by the current Gothic Revival home built by Magistrate Ezra Michael and his wife Margaret. In the 2000s, the home was tastefully restored, carefully keeping its original motifs in period, and retaining the exact original floor plan, stone foundation, hand-hewn basement beams, lath-and-plaster walls, and most original floors, doors and door hardware.
